Just a stone throws away from Penland School of Crafts, which is an educational center for arts and crafts for all ages. Penland holds one-, two- and eight-week workshops for a variety of different arts including clay, drawing, iron, glass, metals, photography, textiles, weaving, wood and more!

Yancey County Farmers Market has very fresh produce every Saturday from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Offering seasonal vegetables, fruit, honey, goat cheese, fresh eggs, pork, backed goods, jellies, pickled veggies, and more. Stop by the Farmers Market in downtown to pick up your fresh produce!
